M/R Head Overhaul - 25/05/2022

Helix team working on a M/R Head Overhaul. These are the items going off for NDT for a M/R Head. 

We received a M/R Head from a customer for Overhaul. The M/R head was disassembled, cleaned, paint stripped, and inspected which includes checking the dimensional measurements are within correct tolerance. The M/R Head Components will be sent for NDT (crack detection). 

Once the parts have returned from NDT, various components will be re-protected in accordance with the appropriate manuals. The M/R head will then reassembled and for a Bell 206 and sprayed with epoxy primer, followed by two coats of polyethylene paint in the appropriate colour.

Helix is a CAA Approved Part 145 Component Overhaul Facility at our fully equipped hangar based at Manston, Kent.

• Main Rotor Drive Train to include Main Drive Shaft
• Head Mid Life Inspections / O/H and replacement of parts
• Mast Mid Life Inspections / O/H
• Tail Rotor Hub Assembly, Mid Life Inspections / O/H
• Swashplate Repair, Replacement, Mid Life Inspections / O/H
• Main Transmission Mid Life Inspections / O/H
• Freewheel Unit Mid Life Inspections / O/H – Clutch Change Part Life
• Rotor Brakes O/H
• Tail Rotor Gearbox Mid Life Inspections / O/H
• Oil Cooler Fan Assembly Static Balance, Tail Rotor Drive Shaft both long and segmented, Mid Life Inspections / O/H
• Tail Rotor Blade bearing replacement
• Main Transmission "A" frames and Transmission Pylon Mount fittings, Bearing Replacement / O/H
• Various Flight Control repairs such as rod end and bearing replacements
• and other various components
